Out-of School Time
Out-of-school time is a critical vehicle for accomplishing solutions for kids and teens and a critical component to keep communities safe and prospering. Youth spend more time out of school than in – and how you spend your time very much determines who you’ll become in life. Out-of-school time provides essential support to closing existing educational opportunity and achievement gaps for youth and must be prioritized at all levels.
Every young person should have access to a high-quality out-of-school time experience.
Nationally, 11.3 million school-age children are home without adult supervision after school.
Clubs across the country provide over million young people with a safe place, caring adult mentors, fun and friendship, and high-impact youth development programs on a daily basis during critical non-school hours.
